You'll never guess who i just met... David Suzuki the environmental-philanthropapal-scientist-guy in his 70s who looks like a wise monk with his smiley eyes and white hair all over his face (and head, too). He had a book signing at McGill and oh my god, I was so excited to speak to him that I just said "you're such a great inspiration to me" like a crazed pop star fan, but he took a photo with me and smiled and smiled and smiled-- Oo, I want one in my living room (to go along with Patxi!) only he'd sit on a comfy leather armchair and sip tea and just talk about everything and anything in the world (he seems so wise, yo) or just be all cute and smiley when I'd like some quiet. Ahhh... Well, I first need to read the book, then I'll know for sure if his ideas really are as cool as he is... I'll get back to you on that.

Then I came home and bought some flowers from the grungy old man who must get his flowers from some public garden, but anywho, it made me feel all fuzzy inside.

I'm back, eh. [24 May 2006|09:59pm]
[ mood | achy ]

Hello every-bodies and not-so-bodies!

Erm, yes, it's been a long while, but I'm still alive and kicking, I swear. I hope you've all been well; as for me, things are splendid (but *oh me god* I can't wait to come home). Things are as follow:

!.)Tomorrow is my last day of summer school in Intro to Psych. Oh yeah, I changed my major to Psychology with a minor in International Development Studies. My prof is an adorable German man who makes cute mistakes like saying 'scratch your asparagus' instead of 'scratch your oesophagus' and not notice. So suess :)

2.)Ashley (my roommate) and I found an awesome, old, spacious, albeit sketchy apartment only 15 minute walk from school. We painted our rooms last week. Hers is a chai brown and mine is light blue with 'French grape' (dark red) door and window frames. We also painted our front door 'sailboat (aka Dark) blue' and our kitchen has bright yellow borders and cabinets.

3.)I'm coming home (hopefully) the 7th of June. When will any of you be home? Is anyone else going to ZIS graduation?

4.)I don't have any fixed plans yet this summer, but Darian's hoping to come beginning August (yay!). You can meet him and then we might travel around...

5.)Cat plans next year: mwahaha, will go to great lengths to steal acquire one (or two...). Cami, when are you getting yours?

6.)Oo, there's a horror movie coming out on 6.6.06; you think the writer came up with the movie idea like a decade ago and decided it would come out on 666 to be extra scary?

7.) Sting rocks. Yeah, okay, I can't think of other major news.

8.) Hey! If you'd like anything back from Canadia, now's the time to ask. After my final on Wednedsay, I'll be pretty free for a week (just moving out and in).

Once again, Happy Birthday Steph! (and Happy Belated Birthday Charlotte!--oops)
Also, do pap smears hurt? Argh, have appointment June 5th and am NOT looking forward to it... :(

Okie doke, I have werk to do...
P.S. Steph: what's your address; there's a CD in the works for ya. Any suggestions?
P.S. Cami: the German coastguard thing is a Riot. Are there others like it?

Bisous to you folks over the ocean...

You scored as Cultural Creative. Cultural Creatives are probably the newest group to enter this realm. You are a modern thinker who tends to shy away from organized religion but still feels as if there is something greater than ourselves. You are very spiritual, even if you are not religious. Life has a meaning outside of the rational.

Heehee, we can say Crepe Night was our first date and our anniversary is Valentine's Day eve. I love him. And he can pull off a pink cashmere scarf :)

I am now a brunette. Hair cut!!!!!!!!! [22 Jan 2006|11:34pm]
[ mood | dude, my hair rocks ]

Please, take a seat, I have some shocking news to tell you. Do you want the long or the condensed version of the happenings on January the 22nd at 10:30 am Eastern time? Ah, condensed, I sensed you'd say that. Here goes:

I am now a brunette.

With medium-length hair. And waves. And I have a definite bang/thing going on. And perhaps even a bit of rocker-attitude in it (or so ze Robert says).

And I may be infected with some gut-ripping disease as my hair dresser had to absentee himself a couple times during the 2.5 hour ordeal. Yes, traggic.

It was worth it. Robert-hair-man told me, whilst my roots were still an eyesore-dirty-blond-ACK-tone, that, though I probably heard it a lot, he thought I was stunningly beautiful. Made me well up, of course. *curses as to why he had to be so ill and at Jenny's unability to ask 1) his age (looks can be deceiving) and 2) his relationship status (hey, he asked mine...)* Ah, I fell for him instantly.

Okay, not quite, but still, I'd never (to my recollection) been called pretty-- let alone beautiful-- by any stranger and I wanted to share my happiness with you all.

So yay! Good DAY!

Which reminds me of this: Clicky here!

And that, in turn, reminds me of this: Great balls of fire WHOA!

Have a nice day :) I must unpack my stuff into a room that's too small for it all. Shucks.

Thank you SOOO much for the funness in Zurich, especially the amazing New Years. What an unforgettable evening :) BISOUSSSSSS

YAY! I finished my only final exam this morning Tada! I went shopping and bought oodles of stuff including an awesome hat (I will post pics in a few days). Then, I got home and met Ashley (my roommate) who had been called to the hospital because her sister was there and they wouldn't tell her why. So we waited in the emergency vroom.
Then she was called in and I was left to talk to this guy next to me, Sean. Sean was a very nice guy, albeit JEHOVAH'S WITNESS. Huh, very interesting hour and a half conversation. He was very kind, but definitely wanted me to consider "opening up my mind to it"-- yeah, so they can brainwash me like they did you, no thanks. We talked politics, too; he lives in Cali and is in internet stock exchange.
Ashley then came back and told me I could go home, her sister was alright, she'd meet me later... About six hours later she came home and, with a big grin, handed me a receipt with two phone numbers on the back "you seemed to really hit it off with him. he waited for me to come out of the room to give me these." She was excited that a guy was giving me his number-- UNTIL, I told her he was a witness, then she understood. Oh, and did I mention he's in his 30s(?) and was in to get a colonoscopy?

DUDE, I need to sleep. Too much excitement for one day: an exam, a hat, the emergancy room and one failed conversion are too much for my tired soul to bear.
I fare thee well until next time.

Fuck. So after the first blackout I decided to go ahead with apple crumble and laundry anyways. It's now 3:30 and we just had another 15 minute blackout. Argh... Normally, I'd be sleeping and none of this would be bothering me, but I have no bed linens so I can't really go to bed. I'm tired. *sigh* Happy December 3rd!

[ mood | tired ]

It's 2 am, and the power's been out for two hours now. I was planning on doing the laundry and making apple pie, but it seems my exciting plans have been ruined by the unfortunate event of no electricity. I also thought it could be cool to take advantage of no power by writing on livejournal, but it seems that the internet is also controlled by electricity so I've just been mosying around, emptying the junk off my computer hard drive. Meh, nothing exciting.

CLASSES ARE OVER!!!! YEEAH! Now for finals... *groan* But then ZURICHHHHHHHH WAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, feck. I might as well go make pie. Oo, and maybe check on food in the freezer. Mmmm, slushy ice cream and a dozen defrosted fish filets...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMPY!!!!

Hoot Cami!!!! Well, technically it's still November 24th here (Happy Thanksgiving :) ), but over there it's your birthday already so YAY! Lots of warm wishes and happiness for you for this year. Would you look at that-- you already have snow (!). Now make some wishes, eat great foodstuffs and go make all the other snow angels jealous of yours. Tee, of course it's understood that you'll take pictures, too. Oo, I saw a girl with a striped pink and gray/blue knit hat today; it really didn't compare to yours.

BIG BISOUS :D

The song "hey Jude" was written by Paul McCartney for John Lennon's first son, Julien, when John and Cynthia (I'm guessing his ex-wife) were going through hard times. It started as 'hey Julien', then 'hey Jules' before becoming 'hey Jude'. Pretty cool, eh?
